CU’s ICTS Director and Dean of the College of Computer Studies, Prof. CJ C. Ranido, took the initiative to enroll in a two-week certification training for becoming a Data Protection Officer (DPO). Data Protection Officers ensure that an organization applies the laws protecting an individual’s personal data. Held on July 26 to August 6, 2021, the special training course was offered by the Academy of the Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators Foundation, Inc. (PSITE). The rigorous training involved lectures, case studies, workshops, and write-shops with case presentations, recitations, and examinations over 6 days of asynchronous classes. The training was facilitated by highly competent and certified Data Protection Officers.
Dean Ranido successfully completed the training and passed the Certification Exam for the DATA PROTECTION OFFICER (DPO) course on August 7, 2021.
