Dr. Rowena Orbeta of the College of Business and Accountancy at Capitol University actively participated in the National Writeshop on the Curriculum Toolkit for Innovations in Teaching and Learning in Industry 4.0 and Smart Nation. The event, themed “Collaborating to Innovate and Transform Education for the Future,” took place on August 15-17, 2024, at the Bayview Hotel, Manila.
This significant event is a continuation of the Smart Nation Project, organized in partnership with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and Far Eastern University (FEU) to which Capitol University has a MOA, with benchmarking efforts against Nanyang Technological University of Singapore. The writeshop brought together representatives from around 30 higher education institutions (HEIs) across the Philippines, all collaborating to refine and prepare a toolkit for the “smart” curriculum previously suggested in an earlier phase of the project.
During the writeshop, Dr. Orbeta also brought on board Ms. Fahra Gorgod as a research assistant for the business team, underscoring Capitol University’s commitment to contributing to the advancement of education in the era of Industry
4.0. The toolkit developed during this event aims to equip professors with the necessary resources to effectively implement this innovative curriculum in their respective institutions.
