Capitol University (CU) and the Philippine Teachers Association – Bahrain (PTAB)
officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on July 15, 2024, at the
Seminar Room of Capitol University. This agreement marks the beginning of a
significant collaboration aimed at fostering academic and educational
cooperation between the two institutions.
The primary purpose of this MOA is to establish academic and educational
cooperation on the basis of equality and reciprocity. The agreement is designed
to promote sustainable partnerships and mutual understanding between Capitol
University, represented by the College of Education (CU-CED) and the Philippine
Teachers Association – Bahrain .
Both CU and PTAB have outlined several key objectives for this collaboration:
- Produce outcomes-based and research-oriented academic resources across all
disciplines. - Increase involvement in research undertakings.
- Maximize faculty exposure to relevant professional experiences to enhance
instruction delivery. - Engage in professional learning communities through seminars, workshops, and
other professional development activities.
To ensure smooth implementation of the MOA, each party has appointed a
coordinator. Dr. Andrews P. Maquiling, Dean of the College of Education, will
serve as the coordinator for CU, while Dr. Junifer Abatayo, President of PTAB, will
serve as the coordinator for PTAB. Both coordinators are responsible for
endorsing all activities conducted under this MOA and will notify their
counterparts of any changes in their respective positions.
The signing ceremony was attended by representatives from both institutions,
including Andrews P. Maquiling and Junifer Abatayo as well as the Vice President
for Academic Affairs, Dr. Amor de Torres and the coordinator of the Office for
Internationalization and Linkages (OIL) , Dr. Mercelita Jandayan-Labial. The
event highlighted the shared commitment to enhancing educational quality and
fostering professional growth among educators.
In his speech, Dr. Andrews P. Maquiling emphasized the importance of this
partnership in achieving shared educational goals and enhancing the academic
landscape. Dr. Junifer Abatayo echoed these sentiments, expressing optimism
about the potential benefits for teachers and students in both institutions.
