The Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) ID, mandated in 2018 through the PhilSys Act, shall serve as the official national identification card for all Filipino citizens here and abroad.
The valid proof of identity provided by the PhilSys shall be a means of simplifying public and private transactions, and shall be a social and economic platform that promotes seamless social service delivery and strengthen financial inclusion for both public and private services. As a foundational digital ID system, the PhilSys will transform how services are delivered in the Philippines, and accelerate our transition into a digital economy, including to enable presence-less, paperless, and cashless transactions (https://www.philsys.gov.ph/).
On October 25-27, 2019, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in cooperation with the CU PhilSys committee headed by VPA Dr. Franco Flores, conducted an onsite PhilSys registration as a service to the Capitol University community. The 3-day registration period was held from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the CU gymnatorium, where strict health and safety protocols were followed. A total of 622 registrants (98% of the intended applicants) were served, comprised of CU faculty, staff, some students, and close relatives.
Thank you to all who made this event possible and to all those who participated, for their cooperation.
