CU’s College of Nursing is one of the most outstanding and distinguished Nursing education providers in the region. The CU nursing program, which began in the 1980s, has been awarded Level 4—the highest accreditation level—by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities (PACUCOA). In addition, as an indication of its superior standards and performance, the Nursing program was granted autonomous status in January 2019, which has recently been granted an extension

The COVID-19 pandemic which continues to devastate the world made it impossible to conduct classes as usual. In 2019, CU including the College of Nursing transitioned to an online delivery of classes. The transition brought many challenges and difficulties, yet these were overcome with passion, dedication, and patience among all members of the faculty and the CU community.

The CU College of Nursing never wavered in its commitment to give the best to the students even amidst the pandemic. On April 19, 2021, the CU College of Nursing became the first nursing school in Mindanao to be given the authority by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to conduct limited face-to-face classes in all year levels. This is a remarkable feat, only possible through the extraordinary commitment of the nursing faculty in addition to strict adherence to guidelines, safety standards, and protocols.
